Isolation and quarantine are both ways to limit your interaction with others to prevent the spread of
● Isolation is separating individuals with COVID-19 from people who are not sick. Individuals
are separated for a period of time until they are no longer infectious.
● Quarantine is separating individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19 but haven’t
been tested. They are separated for a brief period of time (14 days after possible exposure)
to see if they develop symptoms.
